In Your Time of Need...

Animals were once only used for hunting and protection. Today they are likely to be considered a member of the family.

Family Animal Services is "where your best friend is treated like family."

Cremation Quality Process

The following process details the steps we take to ensure your pet's ashes are returned to you.

  1. Pet owner decides on the type of cremation to be performed (Individual or Private).
  2. A stainless steel ID disk containing an individual identification number is attached to the pet either at the veterinarian clinic or at Family Animal Services office.
  3. Also attached to the pet is a RED cremation tag that documents the owner and pet information (i.e., Owner Name, Pet Name, Pet Breed/description, Weight, and ID disk number).
  4. The owner and pet information (vet info included if working through a clinic/hospital) is documented on a Pet Tracking Sheet.  The Family Animal Services employee initial the Pet Tracking Sheet assuming responsibility for the pet.
  5. The ID disk follows the pet through the cremation process.
  6. The ID disk may be placed in the selected urn with the pet's ashes.
  7. The ID disk number is documented on the "Certificate of Pet Cremation".
  8. Upon the return of the pet's cremains (ashes) to the clinic or directly to the owner, the receiving party will assume responsibility for the pet's cremains.
